As of 11 a.m., the passengers were currently being rescued and being returned to the nearby Pleasanton station. In 2016, a train carrying more than 200 passengers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eastbaytimes.com\/2016\/03\/08\/ace-train-derailment-miracle-rescue-described-on-morning-after-plunge-into-niles-canyon-creek\/\">plunged into a creek<\/a> after a mudslide caused a derailment.
