LOS GATOS \u2014 A cliffside rescue Friday left three people who had been driving in wet weather deeply grateful for help from a California Highway Patrol officer, authorities said.<\/p>\n

According to a social-media post<\/a> by the CHP\u2019s Santa Cruz office, a CHP officer responded around 11:15 a.m. to a call reporting a car stuck in a ditch in the 800 block of Old Mill Pond Road, near the Glenwood area of the Santa Cruz Mountains.<\/p>\n

When the officer arrived, he found the car was \u201cnot teetering on a ditch but in fact, teetering on the side of a cliff!\u201d<\/p>\n

Within a few minutes, the officer managed to soothe and calm three people inside the car, who were \u201cscared for their lives\u201d and \u201cin disbelief.\u201d<\/p>\n

After carefully following the officer\u2019s \u201cclear and concise instructions on how to safely exit the car,\u201d the three were able to get out safe and sound.<\/p>\n

Alongside images of the car balanced on the cliff edge by one rear tire, the CHP warned residents about exercising caution.<\/p>\n
