Boys basketball<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Clayton Valley Charter ended Campolindo’s 36-game league win streak on Wednesday night, prevailing at home 74-66.<\/p>\n

Jake King (19 points), James Moore (16 points) and Elijah Perryman (14 points) led the way for the Ugly Eagles in Diablo Athletic League Foothill Division play.<\/p>\n

Clayton Valley, the Bay Area News Group\u2019s sixth-ranked team, extended its winning streak to six games and improved to 14-2 overall and 3-0 in the league.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s an impressive resume for a team that lost 10 seniors from last season\u2019s North Coast Section Division I championship squad.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are very young, but we don\u2019t rebuild here,\u201d Clayton Valley coach Frank Allocco Jr. said. \u201cWe\u2019re going to develop players and the players on this team work incredibly hard.\u201d<\/p>\n

No. 10 Campolindo, which played without starter Shane O’Reilly, dropped to 10-6, 2-1.<\/p>\n

Clayton Valley led 20-5 after one quarter and 42-24 at halftime. Campolindo cut the margin to four, but Clayton Valley held on.<\/p>\n

Logan Robeson scored a career-high of 30 points and Clay Naffziger had 14 points for the Cougars.<\/p>\n

The teams will play again on Jan. 31 at Campolindo.<\/p>\n

No. 13 Oakland 81, Skyline 43<\/strong><\/p>\n

Oakland (13-5, 1-0) opened up Oakland Athletic League play with a win on the road over Skyline (2-15, 0-1). Ja’shaun Jackson scored 18 points and Josh Clark had 12 points for Oakland. Michael O’Donal scored 19 points for Skyline.<\/p>\n

No. 17 Benicia 90, Mt. Diablo 58<\/strong><\/p>\n

Darrell Hurd had 27 points, Jackdan Eyike scored 14 points and James Wong had 11 points in Benicia\u2019s win over host Mt. Diablo in a DAL Valley Division game. Benicia is 13-1, 2-0. Mt. Diablo fell to 4-14, 1-1.<\/p>\n

Leigh 64, Independence 50<\/strong><\/p>\n

Leigh opened up Blossom Valley Athletic League Mt. Hamilton Division play with a win over Independence. Caleb Asante (19 points), Tyler Suzuki (19 points) and Miles Karandikar (13 points) scored in double figures for Leigh, which improved to 6-6, 1-0. Independence fell to 9-6, 0-1.<\/p>\n

Girls basketball<\/strong><\/h3>\n

No. 6 Oakland Tech 72, Castlemont 16<\/strong><\/p>\n

Oakland Tech (11-4, 1-0) avenged Tuesday\u2019s loss to St. Mary\u2019s-Stockton with a dominating Oakland Athletic League win over host Castlemont (5-10, 0-1). Erin Sellers scored 14 points and Nia Hunter had 10 points. Aaliyah Lillard scored eight points for Castlemont.<\/p>\n

No. 10 Pinewood 58, Moreau Catholic 56<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pinewood, playing on the road in Hayward, extended its winning streak to four games after beating Moreau Catholic in a non-league game. Jade Ramirez (14 points), Alex Facelo (13 points), Jolyn Ding (13 points) and Ava Uhrich (13 points) led the way for Pinewood (5-4). Moreau Catholic is 8-6.<\/p>\n

Los Gatos 55, No. 11 Palo Alto 44<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nicole Steiner and Casey Brennan each scored 14 points in Los Gatos\u2019 win over host Palo Alto (9-4, 3-1) in a Santa Clara Valley Athletic League De Anza Division game. Kaella Peter scored 16 points for Palo Alto. Los Gatos improved to 10-3, 3-0.<\/p>\n
